This month’s winner is MATT HAUCK of Rector, AR:
After arriving in Barcelona, I sat in a park near the Ramblas with our luggage while my wife went to find a local hotel for us to stay in.
A vendor was selling snacks, so I bought a “toot” (paper rolled in a cone to hold the snacks). I casually asked the man sitting next to me, in my not-so-correct Spanish, “¿Quien es?” (“What is. . .?”), pointing at my snacks. (Later I found out that it really means “Who is. . .?”). He got up quickly and walked away.
The snacks were delicious.
When my wife returned, I had her ask the vendor what the delicious snack was that I was eating. He told her, “Pigeon food.”
