Funniest Thing for March

Tell ITN about the funniest thing that ever happened to you while traveling in a foreign country. There are no restrictions on length. On a Rhine cruise aboard a Dutch-crewed ship, we heard an announcement over the intercom: “For you early risers, the coffee bar opens at 6 a.m. Have a coffee with goop.”

“Ah,” I said, “that’s a new one!”

Promptly at 6 the next morning I strode up to the bar and said knowingly, “I’ll have a coffee with goop.”

The smiling Dutchman behind the bar said, “I’m Goop!”
