Polka-dot penguins

On a tour of South Africa with Big Five Tours & Expeditions (Stuart, FL; 800/244-3483) in February ’08, we stopped at Boulders Beach on False Bay to see hundreds of African penguins. Smaller than most penguin species, they are very attractive, with distinctive black polka dots on their tummies. The wooden walkways over the beach allowed us to get very close to the penguins.
