Mauritania warning

The Department of State warns of the risks of traveling to Mauritania because of activities and the threat of kidnapping by terrorist groups in the region. Faith-based organizations operating in Mauritania and individuals perceived to be proselytizing may be particularly targeted. 

The influx of tens of thousands of Malian refugees into Mauritania presents additional safety and security concerns.
