A bomb struck a crowd watching a volleyball tournament in the Paktika province of eastern Afghanistan on Nov. 23, killing at least 50 people, many of them children.
Officials blame the attack on the Haqqani group, a Taliban-allied Islamist insurgency group that has commited terror attacks on NATO and Afghani targets. It is based in the tribal areas of Pakistan but also occupies areas in eastern Afghanistan.Â
