TITANICa adds photos

Thirteen pictures taken at the launch of the Titanic in Belfast in 1911 are among 116 pictures never previously exhibited that have recently been added to the permanent TITANICa exhibit at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum (Cultra, Holywood, BT18 0EU, Northern Ireland, U.K.; phone +44 28 9042 8428, www.nmni.com/uftm).

The sepia-toned pictures were originally owned by the director of Harland & Wolff, the shipyard that built the ill-fated ship.

In addition to hundreds of photographs, the TITANICa exhibit contains 500 artifacts, including objects raised from the wreck plus posters and other paper ephemera.

Admission to the Transport section or the Folk section (a replica of an Irish town of 100 years ago, with cottages, farms and costumed guides) costs £6.50 (near $10) adult or £4 child (5-8). Entry to both sections, £8/£4.50. Open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tues.-Sun. March through September and 10-4 Tues.-Fri. and 11-4 Sat.-Sun. October-February. (Closed Mon. except bank holidays.)
