Bali volcano

Ash emissions from Mount Agung in Bali, Indonesia, caused the evacuation of more than 100,000 people from an area within 6 miles of the volcano on Nov. 27 as vulcanologists warned that a major eruption could occur at any time. 

Flights were canceled at nearby Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) until Nov. 29, stranding tourists on the island. Another airport, on the neighboring island of Lombok, was also briefly closed. Ash eruptions were continuing as of press time, with airport operations to be determined based on the direction of the ash cloud.
