Pergamon panorama in Berlin

Originally on display for one year in 2011-2012, a panorama depicting the ancient Greek city of Pergamon opened this fall in Berlin at the Pergamonmuseum. On view until 2024, the panorama offers 360-degree views of an artist's rendition of what Pergamon may have looked like in AD 129. This time, the central observation tower has three levels (with a lift), and the painting is 6 meters taller, measuring 30 meters high and 104 meters in circumference.

A parallel exhibit of 80 pieces from ancient Pergamon, such as sculptures and friezes, is also on display. A visit concludes with a multimedia presentation. Open daily, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. but till 8 p.m. on Thurs. €19 (near $22).

The panorama is directly across the Spree River from the Pergamon museum (partially closed since 2013 for restoration, which should be completed in 2025 or 2026).
