I will be in Egypt in November and want to visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum at Giza even though it is still under construction and only partially open. Do you know any resources to contact to gain entry? Perhaps it could be by a private tour guide? Any and all suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you, cordeliajc, for checking with your tour guide and replying to my inquiry. Since I live in NYC, I visited the Egyptian Consulate on Thursday and, among other information I needed, I inquired and was told the same thing. But, I was advised to check with the concierge at my hotel upon arrival in Cairo to possibly secure a private guide who might be able to gain access through special connections.
