Madagascar Tour Agency

We would like to tour Madagascar using private English-speaking guide/driver with all arrangements made by local agency. Does anyone have a recommended agency? Also, is Air Madagascar reliable enough for internal flights, or should we stick to ground transportation?

Suggest you contact Monique Rodriquez or Susan Herbot of Cortez Travel of Solana Beach, CA. They have a web site. They only do Madagascar, and can arrange almost anything that you desire on the big island. Monique is also an honorary counsel for Madagascar and can issue a visa from her office. Air Madagascar is fairly reliable but delays and overbookings do occasionally occur. Ground transportation is iffy as roads in places are merely oaths and distances are great so much time will be consumed if you elect to go that route.

Thanks for your advice and comments. We have decided arrange a private trip with Cactus Tours, and will do both road and air, leaving plenty of time for unforeseen delays. We'll write about our (hopefully good) experiences on our return.
