For those of us who live in the New York City area or will be visiting the weekend of Feb. 25-27, the New York Times will be holding its annual travel show at the Javits Convention Center in Manhattan. Feb. 25 is open to travel professionals only, but Feb. 26 and 27 are for both professionals and consumers.

There will be 500 exhibitors from over 150 countries (USA domestic travel will also be well-represented). These include airlines, tourist boards, tour companies, cruise lines, etc.

On Saturday, Feb. 26 there will be a number of interesting hour-long lectures by a host of noted travel celebrities including Rick Steves and Arthur and Pauline Frommer.

Many international tourist bureaus will have booths ranging from Anguilla to Zambia. Also many tour companies, including Access China, Adventure Center, Asia Transpacific Journeys, Cultural Folk Tours International, Elderhostel/Road Scholar, Friendly Planet Travel, Gate 1, Globus, Insight, Pacific Delight, Perillo Tours, Rick Steve's Europe, Ritz Tours-Victoria Cruises, Tauck, Uniworld River Cruises, and Wendy Wu's China, amongst others. Some of these exhibitors are ITN advertisers.

This promises to be an exciting event! I have just purchased my ticket online. [Let's just hope it doesn't snow]. :-(

I have no professional or monetary interest in this event; I'm just an interested consumer.
