Luggage delivery service

Luggagefree, Inc., ships luggage anywhere in the U.S. as well as to Canada and Europe. The company picks up luggage at a designated time from the traveler’s home or office, wraps it in heavy plastic, ships it to the destination, tracks it along the way and notifies the owner via e-mail, fax or phone when the bags have been delivered. At the end of the stay, it ships the luggage back.

The company ships standard luggage as well as skis, bikes, cribs and other bulky items.

Shipping time is typically two days for domestic destinations (three for Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico) and five to seven for Canada and Europe. Overnight domestic delivery can also be arranged. Luggage is shipped via truck or noncommercial aircraft.

Domestic pricing is $2 per pound — about $100 for a set of golf clubs. The minimum order is $95, including a $20 pickup fee for locations within 20 miles of the airport. Canadian shipping is $4 per pound. Shipping to Europe is $5 per pound. Luggagefree insures the bags for $1,000 at no cost; additional insurance can be purchased.
