A series of bombings in government-held cities in Syria killed 101 people on May 23. 

In the city of Tartus, a suicide bomber targeted a bus station, and minutes later a car bomb was detonated at the same location. In the city of Jableh, bombs were set off at multiple locations, including a hospital, a bus stop and a power station. The Islamist militant group Daesh (ISIL) claimed responsibility for the bombs.

The US Department of State warns of ongoing terrorist attacks and violence in Mali. 

On June 1, a Chinese national was killed and at least 12 other people were injured when a car bomb was detonated at a United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission camp near the northern city of Gao. In a separate attack within the city, one French national and two Malians were killed. No group has claimed responsibility for either attack.

At least four civilians were killed and 15 wounded during an artillery shelling at a checkpoint between rebel- and government-controlled areas in the town of Olenivka in rebel-held eastern Ukraine on April 27. The Ukrainian military denied responsibility for the attack.

On May 30, near Donetsk, five Ukrainian soldiers were killed by pro-Russian rebels, four in an ambush and another when his vehicle hit a mine. During the ambush, two rebels were also killed.
